Within the corporate world democracy is eliminated. The head of corporations run their industry like dictators. They treat their workers like tools instead of people. Currier J. Holman, who used to be the head of IBP which is one the biggest meat packers in America, once said that IBP should conduct business as if they were “waging war.” He didn’t like when his workers would join unions and he would do anything to break them. He also took pride in being tougher than everyone else in the meat packing industry. This breaks democracy in corporations because workers have no say on what they can door what happens to them. The heads of corporations turn the workplace into a survival of the fittest type of environment. Workers are forced into a state of compliance and if they don’t comply they risk being fired. Companies would do anything to be dominant in their market place.
